A building makes a visible commitment to our neighbors. We’re not passing through; we are part of the future together.
Spaces to be together—to eat, learn, worship, pray, serve—are transformational. We can gather and invite seven days a week.
Enduring ministry takes a long view. We aim to be strategic in stewardship today so we can be positioned to serve faithfully for the future.
Our online Noonday Prayer meetings continue with a special six-week focus reflecting on how God is laying new groundwork—where we live, work, and love. To participate virtually, connect via Zoom, or dial (646) 558-8656 using meeting ID: 862-3357-9019 and password: 057619. Add to your Google calendar. Add to other calendars.
We invite you to reflect on the questions, prompts, and Scripture below as we all consider where God is laying new groundwork—where we live, work, and love.
Bring your questions and learn more about the Groundwork Campaign in these Q&A Forums immediately after Sunday services on October 17, 24, and 31.
We will announce early commitments that have been made to the campaign and invite the full congregation to make a financial pledge to support the Groundwork Campaign.
We will reflect on how God has been moving during the Groundwork Campaign and ask you to finalize your financial commitment toward the East Side Ministry Center.
We will join together in celebration for what God has provided through this campaign and announce the total amounts raised.
Ask God what he is building in and through you in this season.
Who are you becoming? Where might God be looking to build something unexpected in your life? What foundations in your life personally and spiritually does he want to strengthen? How could the practices of PEACE contribute to a strong foundation in your life?
Ask God to shape your imagination for a city transformed by the gospel.
Where is God sending you to engage in mission to our East Side neighborhood? Who are the people around you–where you live, work, and love– who need a stable, ministering presence in their lives?
Ask God how you can lay groundwork for the East Side Ministry Center.
How does God want to work in your life through this campaign? How can you give meaningfully, joyfully, intentionally, and sacrificially toward the East Side Ministry Center? How is God inviting you to be part of a strong foundation for the future of Redeemer East Side?
What kind of commitment would change me and allow me to more meaningfully invest myself in a gospel vision for the city? What difference might my support of the Groundwork Campaign make in my heart and life? How might my gift change me and allow me to invest myself more meaningfully in this vision for what God is doing in our East Side neighborhood?
Jesus is our model of self-giving love for he lived and died on our behalf. In this we can see that God is a joyful giver and delights in joyful giving (2 Corinthians 9:7). Every time we give with joy, God delights, regardless of the amount. So increase your joy through God’s delight! Am I discovering a new joy in giving through this process? How is this commitment demonstrating my expression of faith?
Am I thinking creatively about a comprehensive giving plan that represents what I am capable of giving? What assets and resources could I give to help lay the groundwork for the future of Redeemer East Side? What things can I afford, but am intentionally choosing to live without because I want to support the Groundwork Campaign? Can I order my financial priorities to better reflect the order of my loves?
American culture says to get the best for ourselves, so giving sacrificially can seem like a foreign concept. But Jesus gave his life for us and tells us “it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). Each person will not give an equal amount, but each person can give with equal sacrifice. What might it mean for me to give sacrificially? How might giving sacrificially be a blessing in my life?
What difference can my support of the Groundwork campaign make in my heart and life? How might my gift change me and allow me to invest myself more meaningfully in this vision for what God is doing in our East Side neighborhood?
Am I willing to pray for God’s guidance in how He might want to work through me in the gospel movement in East Side? Am I thinking in an easy and effortless way or more challenging way that might require more discipline to be selfless in response to this vision?
